Hyundai changed the payment on 161 of the 193 trims that can be compared with September: 112 got cheaper and 49 more expensive. The 2027 Santa Fe fell the most, $58 to $61 a month on all 11 trims, and every Palisade Hybrid is $38 or $39 cheaper.
The electric cars went the other way again: every IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 9 costs $18 to $25 more, while the IONIQ 5 N held. The 2026 still leases for less than the 2027 on every trim Hyundai sells in both years, and the cheapest Hyundai lease is the 2026 Elantra SE at ~$289, or the 2026 Kona SE FWD at ~$273 on a 24-month lease.

The Lineup, Cheapest First
The 2026 Elantra SE at ~$289 is the cheapest Hyundai lease and the 2026 IONIQ 9 Performance Calligraphy Design AWD at ~$870 the most expensive. Hyundai prices 216 trims across 2026 and 2027, so this is a selection: the cheapest and most expensive of each model year, plus the trims that moved most.
There is no Cash column this month. Hyundai's lease offers state a payment and the amount due at signing, not the lease cash behind the payment. The cash Hyundai does name is event cash on top, $500 to $1,500 on the Elantra, Kona, Santa Fe, Sonata and Tucson, and these payments already include it. Hyundai also advertises $1,500 of Lease Event Cash on the 2026 and 2027 Santa Fe Hybrid that these payments do not include, so take it off the price on a Santa Fe Hybrid.

*Pre-tax, 36mo/12K miles, Northeast region. Cap cost = MSRP minus the lease cash every buyer qualifies for, no down payment and no dealer discount. MSRP is the Hyundai model-code sheet price plus that model-year's freight. Hyundai sells two versions of most 2026 Kona trims, with stickers $115 to $150 apart; the table shows the lower. In the vs September column a dash marks a trim with no September figure of its own: the 2027 Sonata and Sonata Hybrid, which were not in September's data, and the Elantra N and 2026 Kona Limited, which September's data priced together with a sibling. Data: Hyundai Motor Finance, October 2026.
Verdict: October Hyundai
A good month for the Santa Fe, the Palisade Hybrid and the Kona, a bad one for the electric cars. If you were quoted an IONIQ 5 or IONIQ 9 in September, that quote was $18 to $25 a month better than today's program.
These tables are one configuration.
36 months, 12,000 miles, Northeast. Your term, mileage, and state move the payment. Get your exact number, free.
What These Payments Are
Every payment here is full MSRP, nothing down, pre-tax. No discount, no trade, no fees. That makes them a ceiling, not a target. They exist so you can measure a dealer quote against the program the lender actually published.
$1,000 off the selling price is about $30 a month at 36 months. Hyundai's own October offers for New Jersey quote lower payments because they have $3,341 to $4,999 due at signing, mostly run 10,000 miles a year and assume a dealer contribution. All 38 of them that state their figures run on the same rates and residuals as these payments.
Three things move a real quote
A discount pulls the payment down at roughly $30 per $1,000. Money down pulls it down too, but you already paid that money, so it is not a saving. Tax and fees push it up, and how much depends on your state.
Santa Fe: The 2027 Fell Furthest
Every 2027 Santa Fe is $58 to $61 a month cheaper. Hyundai added lease cash on ten of the eleven trims, from none at all on the XRT and Limited AWD, and moved the rate and residual both ways underneath. The 2027 SE FWD is now ~$402 and the Calligraphy AWD ~$600. The Limited FWD 7-passenger got there differently, with less cash and one of the lowest rates in the lineup.
The 2026 Santa Fe is $29 to $30 cheaper on all 11 trims, on a mix of more cash and better residuals; the SE FWD is ~$377. The Santa Fe Hybrid did not change in either model year.
Verdict: Santa Fe
The 2026 is still the cheaper Santa Fe, by $24 to $25 a month, and the cheaper Santa Fe Hybrid by $54 to $56. On a Santa Fe Hybrid, also ask for the $1,500 of Lease Event Cash Hyundai advertises, which these payments do not include.
Palisade: The Hybrid Is $38 Cheaper
All 28 Palisade Hybrid trims are $38 or $39 cheaper, 2026 and 2027 alike, on residuals two to five points higher. The 2026 Blue SEL 7P is ~$531. The 2027 Palisade is $9 to $10 cheaper on all 17 trims, mostly on a residual a point higher.
The 2026 Palisade split. Its SE and SEL trims are $10 cheaper the same way, while the Limited, XRT Pro and Calligraphy lost most of their lease cash and cost $20 to $36 more.
Verdict: Palisade
Look at the hybrid. The 2026 Palisade Hybrid Blue SEL 7P at ~$531 is only $31 a month more than the cheapest gas Palisade. On a 2026 Limited, XRT Pro or Calligraphy, a September quote was the better deal.
IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 9 Went Up Again
Every 2026 IONIQ 5 is $19 to $20 a month dearer after Hyundai cut its lease cash on all nine trims, and every 2027 IONIQ 5 is $19 to $25 dearer. The 2027 Limited RWD and Limited AWD had the cheapest rates in the lineup, and Hyundai raised both: the RWD's tripled, with lease cash added to soften it, and the AWD's nearly tripled and is still the lowest rate Hyundai offers.
The IONIQ 9 is $18 to $20 dearer on all six trims. On the S, SE and SEL Hyundai cut the rate but took two or three residual points; on the three Performance trims it raised the rate. The S is now ~$564. The IONIQ 5 N held at ~$840.
Verdict: The electric cars
A September quote on an IONIQ 5 or IONIQ 9 was $18 to $25 a month better. If you need one now, the 2026 IONIQ 5 leases for $14 to $20 less than the 2027 on every trim, and on an IONIQ 9 take 36 months, not 39.
Kona, Elantra and Tucson Down; Sonata and Santa Cruz Up
The Kona is $22 to $23 cheaper on every 2027 trim and the 2026 SE, on more lease cash; the 2026 SE FWD is ~$295. Every 2026 Elantra is $15 cheaper, and every 2026 Tucson and Tucson Plug-in Hybrid $12 cheaper, the same way. Three Tucson Hybrids moved $8 to $17 and four held.
The Sonata went the other way: $8 dearer on all four 2026 trims, and the 2026 Sonata Hybrid $9 to $10. Hyundai's pricing sheet for the 2027 Sonata and Sonata Hybrid is dated September 21, and both lease for more than the 2026: $25 a month on the Sonata, $9 to $10 on the hybrid. The Santa Cruz rose $10 to $11 in both model years. The Venue and Elantra Hybrid held.
Verdict: The smaller Hyundais
The 2026 Kona SE FWD at ~$295, or ~$273 on a 24-month lease, is the cheapest way into a Hyundai SUV this month. On a Sonata, take the 2026: it is $25 a month less than the 2027.
2026 or 2027: The 2026, Every Time
The 2026 leases for less than the 2027 on every trim Hyundai sells in both years. The gap runs from $9 to $11 on the Palisade, Palisade Hybrid, Santa Cruz and Sonata Hybrid to $54 to $56 on the Santa Fe Hybrid.
| Trim | 2026 | 2027 | 2027 costs |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kona SE FWD | ~$295 | ~$329 | +$34/mo |
| Sonata SE | ~$363 | ~$388 | +$25/mo |
| Sonata Hybrid Blue | ~$437 | ~$447 | +$10/mo |
| Santa Fe SE FWD | ~$377 | ~$402 | +$25/mo |
| Santa Fe Hybrid SE FWD | ~$435 | ~$491 | +$56/mo |
| Santa Cruz SE FWD | ~$431 | ~$440 | +$9/mo |
| IONIQ 5 SE Standard Range | ~$479 | ~$499 | +$20/mo |
| IONIQ 5 Limited AWD | ~$634 | ~$648 | +$14/mo |
| Palisade SE FWD | ~$500 | ~$510 | +$10/mo |
| Palisade Hybrid Blue SEL 7P | ~$531 | ~$541 | +$10/mo |
Pre-tax, 36mo/12K miles, Northeast region, full MSRP minus the lease cash every buyer qualifies for, nothing down. Data: Hyundai Motor Finance, October 2026.
Verdict: Lease the 2026
On every Hyundai sold in both model years the 2026 is the cheaper lease this month, by as much as $56 a month on the Santa Fe Hybrid. Take it while dealers have one.
188 of 216 Trims Sit in One Rate Band
188 of Hyundai's 216 trims sit in one rate band about a quarter of a point of APR wide. That band is your markup test: a mainstream Hyundai quoted well above it is carrying dealer markup, not the program.
Below the band, Hyundai is buying the rate down. The 2027 IONIQ 5 Limited AWD has the lowest rate in the lineup, followed by the 2027 Santa Fe Limited FWD 7-passenger and the 2027 Santa Fe Hybrid Calligraphy FWD. Above it sit all five 2027 Santa Cruz trims, two 2026 Kona codes by a hair and, highest of all, the IONIQ 5 N.
Verdict: Know the band before you walk in
Ask for the money factor in writing. On 188 of 216 trims Hyundai runs what is effectively one rate, so a quote well above it is markup. Paste your quote into QuoteDefender and it checks the rate against this month's Hyundai program.
Terms: Price Every One
Hyundai's terms this month run 24, 36, 39 and 48 months, and no one term wins. 36 months is the cheapest on 101 of the 216 trims, 39 months on 54, 48 months on 45 and 24 months on 21.
The trap is 39 months on the IONIQ 9. Its residual drops four to six points between 36 and 39, and the 39-month lease costs $77 to $82 a month more. It runs the other way on the 2027 Palisade Hybrid Calligraphy trims, where 39 months is up to $48 cheaper than 36, and on the 2026 Kona SE FWD, where 24 months is $22 cheaper at ~$273, the cheapest Hyundai lease at any term.
| Trim | 24mo | 36mo | 39mo | 48mo |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2026 Kona SE FWD | ~$273 | ~$295 | ~$301 | ~$322 |

| 2026 Tucson SE FWD | ~$409 | ~$320 | ~$325 | ~$344 |
| 2026 Palisade SEL 8P FWD | ~$520 | ~$521 | ~$510 | ~$556 |

Pre-tax, 12K miles/year, Northeast region, full MSRP minus the lease cash every buyer qualifies for at that term, nothing down. Lowest payment per trim in green. Data: Hyundai Motor Finance, October 2026.
Verdict: Ask for every term
Ask for 24, 36, 39 and 48 months side by side. On a Hyundai the cheapest term changes from trim to trim, and on an IONIQ 9 the wrong one costs about $80 a month.
Payment Math & Assumptions
All monthly payments in this post are pre-tax estimates based on a 36-month term, 12,000 miles per year, and the Northeast region program. Cap cost = MSRP minus the lease cash every buyer qualifies for. No down payment, no dealer discount, no trade. Conditional money such as the college graduate, first responder and military programs is excluded because not everyone qualifies.
MSRP is the Hyundai model-code sheet price plus freight, which Hyundai sets per model and per year: $1,295 on the Elantra and Sonata families, $1,600 on the 2026 Kona, Santa Cruz, Palisade, Palisade Hybrid, Santa Fe and Santa Fe Hybrid, and $1,650 on everything else. All 38 of Hyundai's October lease offers for New Jersey that state their figures run on the rates and residuals behind these payments, at the same MSRPs.
Tax, registration, title, acquisition and dealer doc fees are excluded and vary by state. Hyundai also sets part of its program by region, so your own payment depends on your ZIP.
