Kia Lease Deals August 2026: Every Model Ranked

Kia cut lease cash on 42 of the 108 trims we track in August 2026, and only two gained. Money factors barely moved, so the cut lands straight on the payment. The EV6 took the deepest cut: the Light RWD went from $7,800 to $6,100 in cash and from ~$423/mo to ~$474/mo. Sorento is up $38 to $40/mo, Sportage and Niro up $29 to $30/mo, Seltos and Carnival up $20/mo. The EV9 held its $14,700 to $15,280 cash and both plug-in hybrids came through untouched. The two winners are both K5s: the LXS FWD at ~$325/mo, down $19, and the GT-Line AWD at ~$366/mo, down $20. The 39-month 0.00282 (6.77% APR) wall holds.

Kia pulled the cash in August. 42 of the 108 trims we track lost lease cash, and only two gained. Money factors and residuals barely moved, so the cut lands straight on the payment. The EV6 took the worst of it: the Light RWD went from $7,800 to $6,100 in cash, pushing it from ~$423/mo in July to ~$474/mo.

Three families escaped. The EV9 held every number except one (the GT-Line AWD money factor went 0.00217 to 0.00229, up $12/mo), and both plug-in hybrids came through untouched. The only trims that actually got cheaper are two K5s: the LXS FWD is down $19 to ~$325/mo on $3,150 in cash.

What Changed: Kia Cut the Cash, Not the Rate

July was a rate reset. August is a cash cut, and it is a cleaner one to read. Money factors held on almost every trim, so the lease cash line is doing all the work. Where Kia pulled the cash, the payment went up by exactly what the cut is worth. Where Kia left it alone, nothing moved at all.

The size of the hit tracks the size of the cut. EV6 is up $48 to $51/mo across six of seven trims. Sorento is up $38 to $40/mo. Sportage, Niro, and the K4 upper trims are up $29 to $30/mo. Seltos and Carnival are up $20/mo. That is the whole month in four numbers.

Who came through untouched

The Sportage PHEV and the Sorento PHEV are the only two families where every single trim held: same money factor, same residual, same cash. The EV9 held everything but the GT-Line AWD money factor. If you were shopping those three in July, your number is still good.

Verdict — The Month

If your target is an EV6, a Sorento, or a Sportage, August is worse than July by a real amount. If it is an EV9, a plug-in hybrid, or a K5 LXS, nothing changed or it improved. Check the cash line on your quote against the tables below before you sign anything.

EV6 — The Deepest Cut, and a Trim Inversion

Kia cut $1,600 to $1,700 off the EV6 cash on six of seven trims. The Light RWD went from $7,800 to $6,100 and the payment went from ~$423/mo to ~$474/mo. The GT-Line RWD took the same $51 hit. The rest are up $48/mo. The money factors did not move.

One trim escaped, and it changes the buying advice. The Light Long Range RWD kept all $7,150 in cash at MF 0.00226 (5.42% APR) and 55% residual, so it still runs ~$445/mo. That is $29/mo less than the short-range Light RWD on a $3,300 higher sticker. The bigger battery is now the cheaper lease. Buy that one.

EV6: July to August Change

Six of seven trims lost $1,600 to $1,700 in cash. The Light RWD goes ~$423/mo to ~$474/mo (up $51) and the GT-Line RWD ~$572/mo to ~$623/mo (up $51). The Light LR AWD, both Winds, and the GT-Line AWD are all up $48/mo. Only the Light Long Range RWD held.

Verdict — EV6

Only one EV6 is still worth signing this month: the Light Long Range RWD at ~$445/mo with $7,150 in cash. Every other trim just got $48 to $51/mo more expensive for no change in the car. If you want a short-range Light RWD at last month's number, you missed it.

Sportage — AWD Now Costs Less Than FWD

Kia cut cash on six Sportage trims and left three alone, and the result is backwards. The LX FWD lost $970 in cash and went to ~$348/mo, up $29 from July's ~$319. The LX AWD kept all $3,270 and holds at ~$339/mo. The all-wheel-drive car is now $9/mo cheaper on a $1,800 higher sticker.

The same thing happened one trim up. The EX FWD is ~$378/mo after a $990 cash cut, while the untouched EX AWD sits at ~$368/mo. On the hybrid side, the LX FWD went to ~$367/mo and the S AWD to ~$399/mo, but the Hybrid X-Line AWD held flat at ~$409/mo on $2,440. Both plug-ins are completely unchanged: the PHEV X-Line is still ~$392/mo with $4,510 in cash and a 67% residual, the strongest residual of any 2026 Kia.

Verdict — Sportage

Take the LX AWD at ~$339/mo over the LX FWD at ~$348/mo. It is a better car for less money this month, and that will not last. The PHEV X-Line at ~$392/mo is untouched and still the smartest lease in the family. Skip the SX Prestige AWD, which lost $990 in cash and now runs $54/mo more than the FWD version.

Sorento — Gas Trims Up $40, Plug-In Untouched

The gas Sorento took a $1,280 to $1,320 cash cut on seven trims, worth $38 to $40/mo. The LX FWD is now ~$415/mo, up $38 from July's ~$376, after the cash dropped from $3,930 to $2,650. The EX AWD is ~$518/mo, up $40.

Three trims kept their cash and are the ones to shop. The Hybrid EX FWD holds $4,290 at ~$456/mo, the gas EX FWD holds $3,770 at ~$465/mo, and the SX FWD holds $3,620 at ~$516/mo. The plug-in did not move either: the PHEV EX still carries $6,440 in cash at ~$508/mo, the most cash on any non-EV Kia. After the cut it undercuts the gas EX AWD by only $10/mo, on a sticker $8,300 higher.

Sorento: July to August Change

Seven gas trims and the Hybrid X-Line SX Prestige AWD lost $1,280 to $1,320 in cash. The LX FWD goes ~$376/mo to ~$415/mo (up $38), the S FWD ~$415/mo to ~$454/mo (up $39), and the EX AWD ~$478/mo to ~$518/mo (up $40). The Hybrid EX pair and both plug-ins held.

Verdict — Sorento

The Hybrid EX FWD at ~$456/mo on $4,290 in cash is the pick, and it is priced exactly as it was in July. The gas LX FWD is still the cheapest way in at ~$415/mo even after the $38 hit. Do not lease the gas EX AWD: it lost $1,320 in cash, and at ~$518/mo it now costs more than the plug-in EX.

K4 & K5 — The Month's Only Two Winners Are Both K5s

Two K5 trims gained cash, the only two in the entire lineup. The LXS FWD went from $2,520 to $3,150 and its money factor ticked down to 0.00228 (5.47% APR), taking it to ~$325/mo, $19 cheaper than July. The GT-Line AWD went from $1,690 to $2,370, down $20 to ~$366/mo. That makes the AWD GT-Line $19/mo cheaper than the front-drive one at ~$385/mo, which lost $690 in cash going the other way.

The K4 went the other way at the top. The EX lost $970 in cash (down to $550) and now runs ~$326/mo, which puts it $15/mo above the better-equipped GT-Line at ~$311/mo. The GT-Line Turbo lost $990 and sits at ~$381/mo. The LXS is unchanged at ~$277/mo and is still the cheapest payment in the whole Kia lineup. The LX is still the penalty trim, unchanged at MF 0.00282 (6.77% APR), $0 cash, 53% residual, ~$387/mo on a $22,290 car. The K4 Hatchback EX and GT-Line lost $960 and $990 in cash and are up $29 to $30/mo.

K5: July to August Change

The LXS FWD picked up $630 in cash and goes ~$344/mo to ~$325/mo (down $19). The GT-Line AWD picked up $680 and goes ~$386/mo to ~$366/mo (down $20). These are the only two trims in the whole Kia lineup that improved. The EX FWD, GT FWD, and GT-Line FWD all lost cash and are up $14 to $22/mo.

Verdict — K4 & K5

The K5 LXS FWD at ~$325/mo is the best value move in the lineup this month, and the GT-Line AWD at ~$366/mo undercuts its own front-drive twin. On the K4, skip the EX at ~$326/mo and take the GT-Line at ~$311/mo, which is better equipped and cheaper. Never lease the K4 LX: $0 cash and a 0.00282 money factor make it ~$387/mo, $110 more than the LXS.

Seltos & Niro Hybrid — The Base Trims Got Passed

The Seltos LX FWD is unchanged at ~$290/mo ($3,240 cash, 54% residual, MF 0.00227) and the LX AWD is unchanged at ~$311/mo. Kia took $660 off the S and EX AWD trims instead, so the S FWD is ~$340/mo and the S AWD ~$362/mo, both up $20. That pushed the S FWD past the untouched EX FWD, which holds at ~$335/mo on a $1,000 higher sticker. The SX AWD held at ~$397/mo.

The Niro Hybrid produced the tightest gap of the month. The LX lost $970 in cash and went to ~$350/mo, up $29. The EX kept all $3,420 and holds at ~$351/mo. One dollar separates them, on a $2,800 sticker difference. The SX is up $29 to ~$431/mo and the SX Touring held at ~$441/mo.

Verdict — Seltos & Niro Hybrid

The Seltos LX FWD at ~$290/mo is untouched and still the cheapest crossover lease Kia sells. If you want more than the base, skip the S FWD and take the EX FWD at ~$335/mo, which is $5 cheaper with a 61% residual. On the Niro, the EX at ~$351/mo is worth the extra dollar over the LX.

EV9 & Niro EV — The EV9 Is the Safe Harbor

The EV9 kept all of its cash: $14,700 on the Light RWD, $14,780 on the Light Long Range RWD, and $15,280 on both the Wind AWD and the Land AWD. Payments are identical to July at ~$494, ~$514, ~$565, and ~$645/mo. One number moved: the GT-Line AWD money factor went from 0.00217 to 0.00229 (5.50% APR), worth $12/mo, taking it to ~$685/mo. It lost the lineup-low rate it had in July.

The Niro EV split. The Wind lost $950 in cash, down to $11,050, and went to ~$374/mo, up $29 from July's ~$345. The Wave held all $12,300 at ~$427/mo. The gap between them narrowed to $53/mo. The Wind is still the cheapest EV lease here, just not by as much.

Niro EV Wind and EV9 GT-Line AWD: July to August Change

The Niro EV Wind lost $950 in cash, going ~$345/mo to ~$374/mo (up $29). The EV9 GT-Line AWD money factor rose from 0.00217 to 0.00229, going ~$673/mo to ~$685/mo (up $12). Those are the only two EV changes outside the EV6.

Verdict — EV9 & Niro EV

The EV9 Light RWD at ~$494/mo on $14,700 in cash is the EV to sign this month, priced exactly as it was in July. The Wind AWD at ~$565/mo on $15,280 is the one to take if you need all-wheel drive. The Niro EV Wind at ~$374/mo is still the cheapest EV here despite the $950 cash cut.

Telluride & Carnival — Telluride Improved, Carnival Lost $650

The 2027 Telluride still carries $0 in consumer cash across all 12 gas trims, and the LX FWD is unchanged at ~$491/mo. Four loaded trims actually got cheaper because the residual moved up more than the money factor did. The X-Line SX AWD is ~$669/mo, down $11 (MF 0.0024, residual 67% to 68%), the SX Prestige AWD is ~$707/mo, down $11, and the X-Pro SX Prestige AWD is ~$749/mo, down $14 on a residual bump alone. The Telluride Hybrid is unchanged except the SX Prestige AWD, up $6 to ~$747/mo.

The Carnival lost $650 to $660 in cash on four of five gas trims. The LX is ~$474/mo, up $20, with cash down from $3,600 to $2,950. The EX is ~$542/mo. Only the SX held its $3,710 at ~$587/mo. On the hybrid, the LXS lost $650 and the EX $660, both up $20, while the SX and SX Prestige held.

2027 programs: launch rates, not yet confirmed

The 2027 Carnival, 2027 Sportage Hybrid, and 2027 Sportage Plug-In Hybrid appeared on the August rate sheet for the first time, so we are treating them as launch programs rather than settled deals and keeping them out of the lineup table. All three run on thin cash: $630 to $990 per trim. The 2027 Seltos and 2027 Carnival Hybrid carried over from July with no changes and $640 to $660 in cash, against the $1,000 to $3,240 the 2026 Seltos gets. On every one of these, the outgoing 2026 car is the better lease today.

Verdict — Telluride & Carnival

The Telluride is still a skip. A 69% residual is excellent, but $0 cash on all 12 trims keeps the LX FWD at ~$491/mo. The Carnival LX at ~$474/mo is now $20 worse than July and undercuts the Telluride by only $17. If you want the minivan, push for the SX at ~$587/mo, the one gas trim that kept its full $3,710.

The 39-Month Wall — Stay at 24 or 36 Months

This month's pull returned four terms: 24, 36, 39, and 48 months. At 36 months KFA runs trim-tuned money factors, and most 2026 volume trims land between 0.00228 and 0.0023 (5.47% to 5.52% APR). At 24 months the rates go lower still, down to 0.002 (4.80% APR).

Then it stops. Every trim with a 39-month cell resets to 0.00282 (6.77% APR), no exceptions, and the residual drops at the same time. The 48-month term is no better: it runs 0.00269 to 0.00292 (6.46% to 7.01% APR). This wall has held all year and it held again in August.

Verdict — Term

Stay at 24 or 36 months. Every Kia with a 39-month program sits at 0.00282 (6.77% APR) with a lower residual, and the 48-month rates are higher again. Nothing about the longer term helps you. Get the term and the buy-rate money factor in writing before you sign.

The key trims per model, not every sub-trim. Rows tagged 2027 are next-model-year programs (Telluride is 2027 only); all others are 2026. The 2027 Carnival, Sportage Hybrid, Sportage Plug-In Hybrid, Seltos, and Carnival Hybrid are excluded as unsettled launch programs. Every trim with a 39-month program resets to 0.00282 (6.77% APR) at that term. Pre-tax, 36mo/12K, MSRP cap, base cash applied, no acquisition fee. Data: KFA Northeast, August 2026.

Payment Math & Assumptions

  • Cap cost = MSRP minus base non-conditional Lease Cash. No dealer discount, no down payment. Conditional offers such as military and loyalty are not included.
  • Term: 36 months / 12,000 miles per year. All residuals use the 12K tier, Northeast region.
  • MSRP excludes destination. Stickers are Kia's published ex-destination MSRPs, so add roughly $1,245 to $1,645 depending on the model.
  • Pre-tax and pre-fees. Add your state's lease tax, the KFA acquisition fee ($650, about $19 to $20/mo if capitalized), and dealer doc fee.
  • Formula used: Monthly = (Cap minus Residual) / Term + (Cap + Residual) x MF, where Residual = MSRP x RV%.
  • Avoid the 39-month term. Every trim with a 39-month program resets to 0.00282 (6.77% APR) with a lower residual. Confirm the term and the buy-rate MF in writing.
